Known for its high-end gaming rigs, Velocity Micro has begun to add more mainstream computers to its lineup, including an Ultrabook, a mini desktop, and an all-in-one.
The NoteMagix U470 is a 14-inch Ultrabook, but what's most notable is its operating system: Velocity Micro is offering the NoteMagix with Windows 7, although you can also get it with Windows 8. It's configured with a Core i7 processor and 240GB solid-state drive and will sell for $1,100 (it will also be available with a Core i3 or Core i5 processor). It's also one of a few Ultrabooks to include an optical drive.
The Edge Mini is the opposite of a gaming rig, at least in terms of form factor. As its name suggests, it's a tiny desktop, measuring 4 by 4 by 1.5 inches. It's got a full version of Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 8, can include up to 16GB of memory, uses a Core i3 processor, and includes a 60GB hard drive. It retails for $600.
Velocity Micro also introduced its first all-in-one desktop. The Edge A-I-O has a 23.6 high-definition display and runs Windows 8. It starts at $800 for a Core i3 with a 500GB hard drive. The Edge A-I-O is also available with Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
